Dear Sir:
Our new IT system necessitated rewriting all of our programs. The programming language that we use now, because of this change, demands new knowledge. Despite the training and the time dedicated to mastering this new programming language that you have been given, our analysis of your 3 since this change – three months ago – indicates to us that you have not been able to adapt to these changes. As you no longer have the minimum abilities to work adequately and profitably within our team, 4 the 23rd of July, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.
You no longer need to come into the office. Your Record of Employment will be sent to you at home within the next 10 days. We take this opportunity to wish you success in your future endeavours.
Yours truly,
Margaret Swan

Further to our recent discussions on the noise problem in my office, I would like to formally request that my office not be enlarged as planned, but that new and more suitable office space be found or built, ideally in the administration area. While the size and relative darkness of my present office remains a problem, coping with the continuous noise of the air unit has proven to be a great obstacle to a normal productive work environment. Making the office larger, which was supposed to take place some months ago, would not alleviate the noise problem. Since we have been told by building officials that little, if any, improvement in noise level is to be expected, I request that another solution be found to resolve this matter, possibly through the construction of other office space in the administration area and the conversion of my current office to an open area.
